TotalCAE Presenting Case Studies in HPC at the NAFEMS Americas Regional Conference

Rodney Mach of TotalCAE is presenting at “Case Studies in High Performance Computing (HPC) for CAE with Clusters and Cloud” at  NRC22 Americas, the NAFEMS Americas regional conference taking place in Indianapolis June 21-23, 2022.

This workshop will focus on common high performance computing challenges when adopting HPC for CAE simulation through case studies that highlight the pros and cons of on-prem HPC, cloud, ISV clouds, hybrid clouds, and hybrid solution, and the how example companies chose to overcome their simulation challenges through the use of a variety of High Performance Computing options..

Through client case studies, this session will teach you:

  • Why HPC for reducing CAE engineering simulation times.
  • Different methods for reducing CAE simulation runtime, including HPC clusters, cloud technologies from AWS/Azure, and ISV clouds.
  • Pros and Cons of these different HPC options for CAE.
  • Different Billing and pricing options such as reserved, on-demand, spot, convertible, savings plans for compute and licensing for CAE for HPC.
  • Learn about the latest trends in HPC and cloud technology for CAE
  • Learn how to choose among the various compute options for CAE and FEA simulations.
  • Learn about the latest options in CAE licensing options from vendors, and how they impact your choice of HPC solution.
  • Common pitfalls to avoid with cloud technology.
  • Learn real world examples from other public case studies.
  • Learn about where cloud is a good fit for CAE simulation, and where it is not.
  • Learn about barriers to clouds and clusters and how companies have approached these challenges
